Competencies, Skills, and Experience required for 2023 Grants Coordinator at The Roddenberry Foundation

- Ability to design, document, and implement effective workflow processes and procedures
- Strong communicator with program and finance staff, grantees and applicants
- Sound judgment with regards to budget and program issues
- Proven abilities in analytical, database and reporting skills
- Knowledge and application of best practices in grantmaking
- Analytical capabilities with accounting procedures and processes for structuring grants so that they empower and give flexibility to grantees
- Understanding of current IRS regulations related to foundations
- International grantmaking experience and equivalency determination knowledge
- Grants management database and customization experience
- Experience in Majority World countries
Responsibilities of 2023 Grants Coordinator at The Roddenberry Foundation
This role would be responsible for the following:
- Assures compliance with IRS and foundation-specific regulations for assigned grants
- Creates grant files that meet legal, auditing and TRF requirements
- Schedules reporting requirements and coordinates payments for new grants
- Analyzes budget and expenditure reports, monitors program-related investments
- Maintains multi-year payment schedules and monitors grant balances
- Provides reports, responses to inquiries and grants histories as requested
- Keeps grants management system current
- Communicates externally with grantees and applicants
- Communicates internally with program and finance staff
- Participates in training and professional development
- Undertakes special projects as assigned
POSITION DETAILS FOR 2023 Grants Coordinator at The Roddenberry Foundation
- Hours: this is a full-time, salaried role with flexible hours
- Benefits: health and dental, vision, unlimited PTO, professional development budget, cell phone reimbursement, 2% employer contribution to SIMPLE IRA
- Location: remote (even in non-pandemic times), but able to overlap with Pacific Time zone for meetings as needed
- Compensation: $50,000-$60,000
