Context of the Position

UNICEF’s Division of Global Communication and Advocacy (GCA) plays a key role in shaping public perception, mobilizing resources, and advocating for children’s rights. The HR Officer (P-2) role will support HR initiatives to enhance workforce planning, talent acquisition, and staff engagement across UNICEF’s global headquarters. The HR Officer will work closely with the HR Manager to provide support on HR services, including recruitment processes, learning and development programs, and staff engagement strategies. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a global HR function, contribute to UNICEF’s strategic objectives, and collaborate with a diverse team across multiple regions.


Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering: Provide technical support and guidance to Generic Vacancy Announcements within the Division, ensuring alignment with UNICEF’s HR strategies and policies.
  • Strategic Human Resources: Support the implementation of HR strategies that align with organizational goals and enhance workforce planning.
  • Support Implementation of HR Services: Assist in the delivery of HR services across the organization, applying knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
  • Learning and Capacity Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of learning and capacity-building initiatives for staff.
  • HR Data Analytics: Utilize HR data to analyze trends and provide insights that support strategic HR decisions.

Requirements

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (First Level University Degree) in Human Resources Management, Business Management, International Relations, Psychology, or any other related field.

Work Experience:

  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience in Human Resources, including experience in HR Business Partnering, Strategic HR, Implementation of HR Services, Learning and Capacity Development, and HR Data Analytics.

Skills:

  • Project Management skills to coordinate HR projects effectively.
  • Planning and Organizing skills to manage multiple HR initiatives.
  • Proficiency in HR Applications for managing personnel information and data.
  • Strong experience in HR Business Partnering to support strategic workforce decisions.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is a desirable asset.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Experience with Change Management, career support, and UNICEF.
    • UN experience and experience working in developing countries or emergency settings is an asset.
