Call for applications for the Nestle/UNESCO Because Youth Matter initiative is now open! UNESCO and Nestlé launched the initiative “Because Youth Matter” to provide young people with the resources and the skills they need to develop and carry forward innovative solutions to achieve positive social impact in their communities. The project will begin in Latin America with a call for applications across the region. The end-goal is to scale-up the partnership to global level in the future.

What we are looking for
We are looking for Latin American youth leading projects with social impact, related to:
- Reduction of inequalities and promotion of social inclusion and diversity
- Climate Action and Sustainability
- Mental Health and Wellbeing
Eligible applicants for the Nestle/UNESCO Because Youth Matter Initiative
- Young people aged 18 to 30 from and living in Latin America
- Youth-led organizations and networks with local or national scope
Application Criteria
Spanish language skills (as this will be the working language)
Projects should be completed within 9 months and implemented at local or national level
More About the Nestle/UNESCO Because Youth Matter Initiative
Because Youth Matter is the initiative led by UNESCO, in partnership with Nestlé and with the support of Socialab, which seeks to help young people’s ideas prosper and contribute to transforming our societies, providing them with the resources and skills necessary to Promote innovative projects that have a positive social impact in their communities. For this, 20 project leaders will be selected who will receive training and mentoring throughout the implementation, as well as a seed capital of USD 10,000.

The Award
20 projects will be chosen as part of a capacity building program. In addition, each project will receive 10,000 USD as seed capital for its implementation.
