Digital Skills for Women+ is a learning program created by women who have experienced firsthand the barriers for women+ in tech. This free cohort is designed to help women+ without experience in the industry to learn more about industry-related topics, the ecosystem, and career opportunities. Its purpose is to help participants build confidence, learn industry language, and ultimately leave better positioned to explore and enter a career in tech.

Digital Skills for Women
Each cohort consists of six, three-hour virtual sessions that take place over the course of 12 weeks. The content for each cohort will be slightly different based on the cohort members and their application feedback, however, topics that may be covered include digital marketing strategy, analytics, SEO, databases, digital advertising, email marketing, cybersecurity, programming, and more.
About Digital Skills for Women+
Who can apply?
Digital Skills for Women+ is designed for underrepresented gender identities in the tech sector (including women, transgender, non-binary, Two-Spirit individuals, etc.) who do not have previous experience in the tech industry and are interested in learning more about industry-related topics, the ecosystem, and career opportunities.
What type of material is covered?
The content for each cohort will be slightly different based on the cohort members and their application feedback. However, topics that may be covered include:

- Social media marketing
- SEO
- Content marketing
- Privacy
- Blockchain
- UX/UI
- Analytics
- Cybersecurity
- Databases
- Website strategy
When does the course take place?
There are six sessions in each cohort, with two different group times being offered: Saturday mornings or Thursday evenings. These meetings will be 3 hours long. Please look carefully at the dates below as attendance is mandatory.

NB: Digital Skills for Women+ is designed to include anyone who identifies as an underrepresented gender identity in the tech sector (including women, transgender, Two-Spirit, non-binary individuals, etc)
We recognize the title ‘Digital Skills for Women’ may imply the program is designed only for those who identify as women, however, our goal is to centre the conversation around those who are facing gender-based barriers in Nova Scotia’s technology sector.
