Overview: DT Global is seeking an Intern to join our Environment and Infrastructure (E&I) Practice. The Intern will specifically support our Climate & Environment and Energy teams by conducting research on emerging topics in energy and climate change, providing support and input into business development proposals, and contributing to DT Global’s internal sustainability and carbon footprint efforts. Additionally, the Intern may provide ad hoc administrative assistance to the Program Management Unit (PMU) within the Climate & Environment team. This is a paid opportunity and the internship is scheduled to take place from approximately mid-June through August 2023.
Tasks and Responsibilities: Intern Energy, Climate Change, and Sustainability at DT Global
- Conduct research on emerging topics in energy and climate change in support of DT Global’s thought leadership activities
- Conduct competitive landscape, donor and country research for specific new business opportunities; provide technical research and logistical support for proposals efforts as requested
- Gather information on DT Global’s institutional capabilities and draft sectoral capability summaries
- Assist with data collection and analysis for Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventorying
- Support DT Global’s internal sustainability/carbon footprint and greening efforts
- Provide administrative assistance on project management tasks, including audit and procurement support
- Other tasks and duties as assigned
Education & Minimum Qualifications: Intern Energy, Climate Change, and Sustainability at DT Global
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field including international development, environmental science, climate science, geography, sustainability, or other related fields
- Relevant college or graduate coursework in international development, environmental science, climate change, geography, etc.
- Strong secondary research, analysis, and data synthesis skills
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills
- Attention to detail with good organizational and prioritization skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working towards a graduate degree in environmental science, climate science, geography, or sustainability
- 5 months of professional work experience in climate change, environment, or sustainability related projects
- Familiarity with USAID and other international development donors
- Fluency in languages beyond English is desireable
