- National Project Officer
Required Qualifications
Education
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in the field of Water Resources Management, Natural Sciences, or Earth Sciences.
Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in project implementation in the field of natural sciences and or related fields;
- Relevant experience in the project management cycle;
- Demonstrated professional experience with project management.
Skills and competencies
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy;
- Ability to work with a wide range of partners, including national and local authorities, academia and relevant United Nations Agencies and NGOs;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to work in a multicultural team with respect and sensitivity for diversity;
- Good IT skills including knowledge of MS office programmes (i.e. Word, Excel, Office..etc).
Languages
- Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken).
Desirable Qualifications
Education
- Advanced university degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in the field of natural sciences.
- Training in project management and/or environmental and social risk assessment.
Work Experience
- Experience at international level, i.e. within the United Nations common system or International Organizations.
Competencies and Skills
- Familiarity with the work and general functioning of international organizations and/or the United Nations System.
- Knowledge of United Nations work in the field of natural sciences and/ or related fields.
2. Associate National Project Officer
Required Qualifications
Education
- Advanced University Degree (Masters/equivalent in the relevant field) of Water Resources Management, Environmental Sciences, natural sciences, earth sciences or equivalent.
Work Experience
- At least 2 years of professional experience in programme and/or project implementation in the field of natural sciences and/or related fields;
- Excellent report writing skills;
- Proficiency in MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Office..etc);
- High degree of independence, as well as well‐developed capacities for teamwork in multicultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.

- Extensive knowledge, and high level of technical writing skills;
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and deliver to deadline, as well as work under pressure;

- Experience in the use of hydrological and/or ecological modelling techniques and disaster risk management tools;
- Strong knowledge of computer applications, web skills and social media.
