Public Advocacy and Communication Support Six-Month Internship at United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi, Kenya
The United Nations Environment Programme is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. This internship is located in UNEP/Communication Division at Nairobi duty station. Under the general guidance of the Chief of Section, Public Advocacy and Communications, and under the direct supervision of the admin and finance Coordinator.

Responsibilities
- Engages in outreach and communication efforts to promote and support various public advocacy campaigns and activities.
- Supports in generating a variety of written materials, such as draft background papers, analyses, sections of reports and studies, contributions to publications, etc.
- Offers substantial support for meetings, conferences, and similar events, including suggesting agenda topics, identifying participants, preparing documents and presentations, etc.
- Assists in coordinating administrative and financial responsibilities within the section.

Education
Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
a. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
b. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);
c. Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
Be computer literate in standard software applications.
Studies in communication, international affairs, or environment-related field preferred.
Work Experience
No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.
Assessment
