UNICEF Canada International Policy Internship

(May to December internship; part time; 3 days; 22.5 hours per week; flexible location)

The main policy and advocacy work of the intern will focus on children’s rights to health and immunization, education, and nutrition. With COVID-19 significantly impacting the lives of children and families in Canada and around the world, we want to ensure that Canada builds back better by ensuring that children and youth are at the heart of the recovery.

Globally, the COVID-19 pandemic unleashed a world of crisis that has worsened global inequalities in child rights, and eroded hard-won progress on child survival, access to education, health, nutrition and protection and discrimination. It has both revealed and exacerbated these overlapping crises, compounding the impacts of increasing humanitarian emergencies, protracted conflicts and the climate crisis. To respond to these challenges, UNICEF Canada will work to ensure Canada protects, develops and commits to integrated health, nutrition, education, and child protection initiatives to realize the rights of the most marginalized children around the world.
